PowerGuard Protectant™
Chem-Dry’s new PowerGuard Protectant™ is great for carpets. It has acid-dye resistors to help keep your carpets from getting stained. But the best part is that it also protects carpets from becoming damaged by solutions like polyester and olefin. Laboratory tests have shown that PowerGuard mixed with The Natural®, outperforms all other protectants. So your carpets will be well taken care of with this product.
Repel Protectant™
Chem-Dry Repel Protectant™ causes most liquids to bounce off the surface, which allows you time to clean up spills before they have a chance to become stains. Repel Protectant™ can be applied to all types of carpets as it creates an invisible shield around each carpet fiber. This shield increases the surface tension of the carpet fibers so that they repel liquid spills, dust, and dirt. As a result, dirt and stains are less likely to attach or soak into your carpet fibers
Wool Protectant™
Chem-Dry’s Wool Protectant is a fluorocarbon, water-based product that was created to improve soil and stain repellency for wool carpets and rugs. When applied, it creates an invisible shield around each carpet fiber to prevent stains from setting in. With this repellency, most liquid spills can be cleaned up before they cause any permanent damage, helping your carpet last longer.

Does Chem-Dry always charge for and apply a protectant?
Our stain protectants are completely optional. We will not charge you randomly for it or do anything else in bad taste. We will gladly review potential benefits with you and help you see if an application of one of our high-quality stain protectants makes sense.
How long will a Chem-Dry stain protectant last?
While our stain protectants are extremely effective, they aren’t permanent, and they will eventually become less effective over time. It’s hard to give an exact time frame because it will be different for any given household. If you have a household that sees a lot of foot traffic from both humans and animals, it may give out faster than a home that only has a couple of people walking lightly over the carpet from time to time. As a general guide, though, our stain protectant should last about 6-24 months.
